Happy Holidays Series | Yeti, it's Cold! ft. Lawn Fawn "Yeti, Set, Go"

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day.

Well, winter has finally hit us here. It's cold and snowy and the roads are just crazy. It happens every year. As soon as the snow hits the ground, people forget how to drive. It never ceases to amaze me.

Today I want to share the third card in my Happy Holidays Series, featuring two sets from Lawn Fawn. Both are older, but still wonderful!

To begin, I stamped the red portion from Lawn Fawn's "Argyle Backdrops" using Tulip ink from CTMH, I used the MISTI as this is one that will need to be stamped a couple times to get a good impression.

Once that was dry, (it takes a bit, especially when you stamp two or three times) I stamped the stitching from the same set using CTMH Archival ink. This black ink gives a nice impression, and if the red dye ink is still a little wet it won't bleed.

I then stamped the Yeti from Lawn Fawn's "Yeti, Set, Go!" set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on 110lb Copic-friendly cardstock. I masked him off and stamped his earmuffs and the trees around him. I cut him out using the Brother 2 Scan N Cut, which is way faster than fussy cutting him with scissors.

I coloured him with Copic markers and popped him up on some foam tape. I then cut a banner piece out of dark green cardstock by Recollections and white heat embossed my greeting.

I used the same green cardstock to create a border for my panel and adhered all the pieces to the front of a standard A2 sized card base.

I hope you like today's card and are inspired to create something of your own. If you haven't already, please follow me on the right side bar or over on Facebook, so you don't miss any future posts. Drop me a line in the comments section below and let me know what you think.

Hello Halloween Series | Fall Shaker ft. Lawn Fawn "Pumpkin Spice"

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day.

It's the first wintery day here in Calgary. The snow is blowing and falling and it really feels like a regular fall for this area. Of course it will be summery again by Friday but that's the sort of thing that happens out here on the prairies.

In an effort to spread warmth, I thought I would share a fun shaker. Yep! More pumpkin spice! YAY!!

To begin, I used my outside stitched rectangle to remove my window from a piece of 110lb Copic-friendly cardstock. From that piece I stamped the mug from Lawn Fawn's "Pumpkin Spice" stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink; then coloured it with Copic markers.

I also stamped a bunch of the little shakers and cut them out using the Brother 2 Scan N Cut. I cannot tell you how much I love this machine.

For the front panel I sponged Dried Marigold and Rusty Hinge Distress inks to colour the panel, when it comes to creating that fall red this is my favourite combination. I splattered that with clean water and blotted it dry with some paper towel. Then I set it aside to dry completely.

I then stamped my greeting using Lawn Fawn's Black Licorice ink for the first and last part, and CTMH Autumn Terracotta ink for the "Pumpkin Spice".

Once that was done, I put together my shaker card. Instead of having all the shakers at the bottom, I glued a couple of the to the back panel of the window. So now, even when the card is upright there's still something there.

Finally I adhered my mug directly to the front of the window, then mounted the whole piece to the front of a standard A2 sized card base.

I hope you like today's card and are inspired to create something of your own. If you haven't already, please follow me on the right side bar or over on Facebook. Drop me a line in the comments section below and let me know what you think.

Hammy Birthday | ft. MFT's "The Whole Herd"

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day.

If you've followed me for any length of time, you know that I love doing shaker cards. I literally have dozens, for all occasions. Well not really for Sympathy cards because that would probably be a bit inappropriate - but then again, maybe not. Depends on the personality of the family. But I don't have any for that. Yet.

Today I thought I would do a simple CAS Shaker that works for any celebration. This one happens to be a birthday, but it could be swapped out for something else. Just depends on what you put inside.

To begin, I stamped this sweet little pig from MFT's "The Whole Herd" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of 110lb Copic friendly cardstock. I then coloured and fussy-cut him out.

Next, I cut the window for the front of my shaker. Normally I would toss that inside piece, but this time I saved it and stamped the gift, hat and cake from Lawn Fawn's "Party Animal" stamp set and coloured those with Copics. I also adhered a few sequins to the back part of my shaker area, so that it would still look a little festive when the card was just sitting upright.

I doubled up my foam tape to get a good shake and adhered the front panel to a standard A2 sized card base.

For the greeting banner, I prepped a piece of black cardstock with my powder tool and created my own phrase using CTMH's "Etched Alphabet" and heat embossed that with white detail powder.

Finally I added a few sequins across the front of the panel and that was that. Easy-peasy!! If I were to re-create this card, I think I would add waaaay more shaker bits and probably glue a few more sequins to the inside of the shaker area. But live and learn, right?

I hope you like today's card and are inspired to create something of your own. If you haven't already, please follow me on the right side bar; you can also follow me over on Facebook, so you don't miss any future posts. Toss me a line in the comments section below and let me know what you think.

Hello Halloween Series | Clear the Cobwebs

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you are having a great day.

It has been one *heck* of a morning. It has literally taken me 3 hours to get my computer working. Needless to say, I was not impressed. I don't even know what the problem was or if it still has a problem but I was ready to toss it out a window.

Anyway, I thought today I would share a super quick CAS card in the spirit of my mood and for the Wednesday challenge over at Simon Says as well as the CAS challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. If this broom came with magic powers I would have zapped this computer. I tell ya.

To begin, I stamped the broom from Lawn Fawn's "Critters in Costume" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on 110lb Copic-friendly cardstock. I then masked that off, and stamped a spider web from an older set in CTMH Whisper ink.

I used a black fine point marker to draw in a corner. And stamped the greeting using a Hero Arts (CL141) alphabet set.

I then coloured in my broom with Copic markers. I mounted the panel on a piece of Recollections spider patterned paper and adhered the whole piece to a standard A2 sized card base.

I hope you like today's card and are inspired to create something of your own. If you haven't already, please follow me on the right side bar. You can also follow me over on Facebook. Toss me a line in the comments section below and let me know what you think.
