Rainbow Butterfly Thanks | ft. Simon Says Stamp "Beautiful Day"

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day.

I'm finally back with another card and video - no Lawn Fawn this time! But I am using the "Beautiful Day" stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I gotta say I am LOVING this set!

I recommend watching in HD on YouTube!

Check out the video to see how this card came together, the types of crystals I used and a complete list of the Copic markers used for colouring those butterflies!

I opted to not put anything on the inside of this card while creating it, so that I could include a personal message for the recipient. This person is amazing, and I certainly would never have gotten through the week without her assistance.

AHH! Just look at that shine! I can't even!!

I hope you like today's card and video and are inspired to create something of your own. If you haven't already, please follow me on the right side bar, over on Facebook and on YouTube! Drop me a line in the comments section below and let me know what you think.

Pattern Stamping | ft. Lawn Fawn "Blissful Botanicals"

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you are have a great day.

Ever wish you had more than one of the same stamp set so you can use them at the same time? It was never really a problem for me until I got the MISTI (or any other stamping tool you may be using) it opened up a whole new world of stamping multiple images at the same time.

I wanted to create a pattern that radiated out from a central point, but I wanted it to be exactly the same all the way around. Sadly, I don't have more than one set of stamps (or the money to buy multiple sets); so what to do?

To create this card, I started by cutting down a piece of heavyweight cardstock to 6x6 and drew very light lines from corner to corner, creating an X. I placed the paper in my MISTI and prepped it with my powder tool.

I then arranged my stamps from Lawn Fawn's "Blissful Botanicals" in an array along one of those lines, filling a corner or 90 degrees of the paper.

I then used VersaMark Ink to stamp the images, turned the paper 90 degrees and stamped again, until the whole sheet was covered. I heat embossed with silver detail embossing powder. I coloured all the images with Copic markers, making sure that each image was coloured the same for each section of the paper.

Once that was completed, I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to the front of a black standard A2 sized card base. I used the scripty "Thanks" die from Lawn Fawn to cut a piece from white paper and another from black cardstock and adhered them, offset, to the front of the panel.

I hope you like today's card and are inspired to create something of your own. If you haven't already, please follow me on the right side bar or over on Facebook, so you don't miss any future posts. Drop me a line in the comments section below and let me know what you think.

Mostly Monochrome Thanks | ft. Lawn Fawn "Love you a Latte"

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you are having a great day.

Sometimes when the challenges get to be too much (shocking, but it does happen) or I have spent hours working on a product review for an upcoming post, I really like to just play around with my favourite stamp sets. The "Love You a Latte" from Lawn Fawn is by far one of my most loved sets.

I also really like coffee. A lot.

I'm on cup #2. I've been up for just over an hour.

Anyway, today I thought I would share one of those cards that was just a play around and decompress after working on a lengthy DIY (you have to wait until Sunday!)

To begin, I cut down a piece of 110lb Copic-friendly cardstock so that I could use it as a strip across the middle. I then stamped the travel mug from the "Love you a Latte" set with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I wanted it to look like patterned paper.

I then coloured it with Copic markers. I knew this would be on a Kraft background so I wanted the little sleeve to match as closely as I could get it. Once it was coloured in, I felt it was a little bare, so I stamped the coffee bean to fill up some of those white spaces using CTMH Cocoa ink. Then I sent that aside.

I created an A2 sized card base using craft paper, and stamped the large mug in VersaMark ink randomly to get a great tone on tone look. Once again, I used the coffee bean to fill up the space.

Then I adhered the strip to the card base and totally realized I had no greeting. So I cut a piece of vellum using one of my Spellbinder Oval dies and prepped it with my powder tool. I stamped the Thanks from the "Love you a Latte" set with VersaMark ink and embossed with black embossing powder and used tiny little dots of liquid glue to hold that in place.

It then occurred to me that I have these awesome "Lift the Flap" dies, and it would be super fun to give a gift card with this! So I ran the largest of the dies through my die cut machine on a second piece of Kraft cardstock. I then used the little "Life the Flap" saying from the "Push Here" stamp set with the mini arrow, and stamped the mug (same as on the front) using the Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink with the little steam sentiment "For You".

I coloured the mug in with PrismaColor Premier pencils to add just a splash of colour on the inside since the front is very monochromatic.

To make it so that the flap can be opened and reclosed I used a bit Tombow Mono Multi Glue (green lid) and let it dry. Once this glue dries it becomes repositionable; which is perfect for hiding a gift card!

To get the inside panel to stay inside the card, I used some 1/4" two-way tape to tape around the gift flap opening (wouldn't want to have the flap stuck for real!) and laid it in place.

I hope you like today's card and are inspired to create something of your own. Spring Thank You

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you are all having a great day.

Today's card was inspired by Anita Bowden's lovely card (shown at the bottom). I loved the clean and simple flowers with the greeting, and knew exactly what I wanted to do. The only thing that I really had to decide on was what type of card I wanted to create. I settled on "Thanks" because I can always use thank you cards.

To create this card, I stamped the upper flower and masked it off, I then stamped the second flower and the leaves to create a one layer look. The masking allows you to create the look of dimension without actually having dimension.

The flowers and leaves are coloured with copics.

I die cut the greeting using Lawn Fawn's "Thanks" die, three times and stacked them together. I coloured it using the darkest orange from the flowers and adhered it in place. To create a matching boarder, I used the same orange and just coloured along the edges of my layering piece to tie the card together.

I hope you all like today's card and are inspired to create something of your own.

Single Layer Thanks on Craft

Now that the Holidays are nearly done, I have been able to give a little bit of love to all the non-Christmas stamps that have been waiting so patiently for me.

I have been finding an increasing need for Thank you cards, a few times a week I'm hunting around through my stash of cards for something that shows my appreciation. Needless to say, that stash is getting depleted at an alarming rate.

That being said, today's card is a sweet single layer thank you card, coloured with PrismaColor pencils.

The cat has three shades of orange and the puppy has four shades of brown, the hearts were coloured with two shades of red then covered in glossy accents to make them shine and give just a touch of dimension. The greeting is coloured in the same shades of red with the darker of the two at the bottom, creating a suble ombre effect that wasn't really picked up by the camera. To ground the image I used four shades of green to create a grassy effect.
